Draft Profile & Scouting Report

Very physical downhill runner that is always going forward and moving the pile for extra yardage
Excellent ball security with only 1 fumble in 359 career caries; no fumbles in 2021
Looked like a completely different running back in 2020 and in the bowl game in 2021 and looked much more like the running back that led the SCC and rushing in 2020
Some draft capital with NE at 6; 183
At best restricted to only in early-down or short-yardage work at the next level
Will miss openings at times and typically only will run where the play is called
Rarely looks to bounce it out and offers little more vision than an occasional cut back; typically is only a between the tackles runner
Does not force many missed tackles and seems to ALWAYS be in contact
Below average top-end speed and rarely if ever will get away from linebackers; disappointing 4.6 (29th PCTL) 40ty at his Pro Day
Not much in the way of elusive and average at best quickness & acceleration with a disappointing 7.39, 3-cone (4th PCTL) at his Pro Day
Does not appear to have very natural hands and at times looks challenged; only 11 catches on 17 targets and 3 drops in 2021
Unclear how a physical running back will struggle in pass protection but misses way too many blocks and looks to have below average technique
Production and yds per attempt fell off-a-cliff in 2021; went from 6.2 average to 4.3 and all other metrics decreased significantly
Definite injury concern as he had back surgery in 2020 and did not seem to bounce back in 2021
Underwhelming landing spot in NE and unlikely to have a clear role despite some minimal draft capital; will likely compete for a 53-man roster spot and ultimately wind up on a practice squad
